White Pelican

Unlike its cousin the Brown Pelican - the White Pelican usually stays in large colonies and can be seen in very large numbers resting or feeding on the flats in Everglades National Park. The American White Pelican is also different from other pelicans, in that it does not dive to catch fish. Rather it paddles on the water and scoops up fish with it's large bill.
