Everglades National Park Birding Tour: Vultures

Everglades National Park Birding Tour: VultureThere are two types of vultures found in Everglades National Park - the Turkey and the Black. The Turkey typically has a red head and in some strange way resembles a turkey.

We won't have to go looking for Vultures in the Park - there will be plenty in the trees and near the parking lots at Flamingo - mostly near the fish cleaning room on the backcountry sEverglades National Park Birding Tour: Vultureide. Care must be given to park your car far enough away from where they are as for some reason they are attracted to the rubber on cars, particularly the rubber around windows and mirrors. They will spend hours picking at and removing it. I've known a number of people who have had to spend THOUSANDS of dollars to repair the damage. Its best to park in the other lot - or take a car cover or tarp if parking at the backcountry boat ramp.
